Bottas Given 3-Place Grid Penalty For Overtaking Under Red Flags During Practice

Valterri Bottas has been given a three-place grid penalty after overtaking under Red Flags during Practice Two on Friday.

The stoppage was brought on by McLaren’s Fernando Alonso, who stopped out on circuit with a Power Unit problem. Bottas was coming up to turn six when he overtook Felipe Nasr at what the stewards described as “considerable speed.”

That earned the Williams driver a grid penalty for tomorrows race, and two penalty points on his Super License.
