Pietro Fittipaldi will start from pole position in tomorrows World Series Formula V8 race at Silverstone.
The Brazilian set the early pace in the qualifying session from Konstantin Tereschenko, however much more time was to be found in the closing stages of the session as the track evolved.
As the lap times started tumbling Matevos Isaakyan went quickest by three tenths after finding some time in the final sector, however this was quickly beaten by Igor Orudzhev who found an extra 1.2 seconds on his lap.
Fittipaldi was second quickest and needed to find four tenths, and on his next run he managed to go fastest by just 0.006s from Rene Binder who also improved.
When the chequered flag came out Fittipaldi went two tenths quicker, securing his pole position from Binder who starts alongside him on the grid. Further back Orudzhev will join Isaakyan on the second row, while Celis Jr rounds out the top five. Team mate Diego Menchaca went sixth quickest ahead of Tereschenko, who is being investigated for track limits at the end of the session.
