Jack Aitkin will be racing with Arden International in GP3 for 2016. The Formula Renault 2.0 champion tested with the team in Abu Dhabi and with them in the newly renamed Formula V8 3.5 championship (Formerly Formula Renault 3.5) in Jerez and Motorland during the winter.
From there he was found to be topping the timesheets in GP3 on day two of the test, which after his success in FR2.0 was enough for Arden general manager Julian Rouse to give Aitken a shot in front of the Grand Prix audience for the 2016 season.
“After working together once back in 2013 and having become close to all the guys here during the early years of my career, I’m extremely excited to be racing with Arden this year in GP3,” said Aitkin. “Having come off the back of a championship-winning year in a very competitive series, I’m keen to not rest on our laurels and take the fight to the next level in GP3.”
Aitkin was also one of the nominees in the McLaren BRDC Autosport award, which ultimately went to Will Palmer for 2015.
