Luca Ghiotto will join Artem Markelov at Russian Time in this years GP2 campaign.
The 2015 GP3 runner up had an impressive rookie season last year with Trident, and now joins Markelov who has been retained for a fourth season.
Ghiotto took a race win in the Malaysia Sprint Race along with a handful of podiums which earned him eighth in the standings, while Markelov came 10th in the standings overall in 2016, after enjoying a win at Monte Carlo (albeit in rather controversial circumstances) and a third place in the Abu Dhabi Feature Race.
“We made an important step last year,” said Markelov. “With a win and a top 10 finish in the championship. The GP2 series is highly competitive and I’m looking forward to doing even better in 2017 and challenging for more wins and hopefully becoming a consistent front-runner.”
Ghiotto added: “I think we have great potential to develop together. I’m looking forward to working with my new team mate Artem, and can’t wait to hit the track in March to start work.”
