Ferrari Academy driver Charles Leclerc will start from pole position for the F2 Feature Race at Catalunya.
Leclerc was one of the final drivers to make it across the finish line, after a red flag towards the end of the session due to Nabil Jefferi stopping out on track with a problem at the exit of Turn 5.
That caused an influx of drivers to appear with just three minutes left on the clock, with Alexander Albon improving to fifth ahead of Oliver Rowland in sixth and Norman Nato in seventh.
Nyck De Vries, who starts from third on the grid, was among those to set laps early on in the session and make use the tyre warm-up lap before going for a timed lap.
Jordan King also set a lap time early, however left himself vulnerable on his second attempt when he failed to improve his lap time. That was swiftly beaten by De Vries, demoting him to what became third on the grid.
Antonio Fuoco also set his lap time early but didn’t use the warm-up technique and subsequently went eight quickest, starting ahead of Nicholas Latifi and Nobuharu Matsushita who round out the top ten.
