Marcus Ericsson will be staying on at Sauber for the 2017 season, he has confirmed on Twitter this week.
Ericsson, whose Swedish backers have a significant role in the funding of the team, will be continuing although it is not clear who he will be alongside.
Talks of Esteban Gutierrez potentially making a move to the team from Haas has been on the cards, although his future will depend on this weekend as he is also exploring options at Manor.
Felipe Nasr was expected to stay on with the team, however it emerged that his backers were also exploring other options. Since he scored Sauber’s first points of the season in Brazil two weeks ago which puts them ahead of Manor in the constructors championship, it puts speculation into who will take up the final two seats on the grid.
