No Further Action Against Raikkonen After Unsafe Release

No further action has been given against Kimi Raikkonen with regards to his unsafe release on lap 40. According to the stewards Ferrari had explained that “the system used to monitor pit stops gave no indication that the car was in an unsafe condition when released and the team caused the driver to stop the car immediately” said the stewards, adding “the problem was apparent from the driver and telemetry.”

Raikkonen would’ve got a 10 second stop/go penalty for the next race event had the team been found to have released him onto the track in an unsafe manner, however it seems he will go to Malaysia penalty-free.
