Jason Plato and Colin Turkington have joined Team BMR for 2015. The two championship contenders from the 2014 season of the BTCC have today announced their plans to join the team alongside Aron Smith and Warren Scott, with the intention to win the championship this year.
Plato and Turkington who were coy about their 2015 plans at the start of the year, have replaced both Alain Menu and Jack Goff and will be racing the front-wheel drive Volkswagen’s in 2015. The team have also managed to sign engineers Carl Faux and Kevin Barry, both of whom have worked with Plato at MG and Triple Eight and Turkington at WSR.
“This is a new chapter for Jason and I,” said reigning champion Colin Turkington. “We’ve been in British Touring cars for quite a number of years now, Jason in a front-wheel drive car and me in a rear-wheel drive car, so I think there is big strengths in both corners.” Plato meanwhile said “There is going to be fireworks for sure, and I predict that BMR will be winning races and hopefully winning the championship in 2015 and for many years to come.”
