Porsche Supercup Race At Silverstone In Doubt As Teams Get Stuck In Calais Strike

The Silverstone round of the Porsche Supercup has been put into doubt this weekend, as most of the teams have got caught up in the Calais strike on their way to the circuit today.

The disruptions which have been ongoing the past week has seen thousands of lorries stranded on the M20, after French ferry workers of the company MyFerryLink went on strike due to the sale of the companies ferry’s to rival firm DFDS Seaways. As a result the strike has closed the Port of Calais, which has hindered a number of truck drivers including most of the Porsche Supercup teams which come from parts of Europe.

Porsche has said that it is working hard to find a solution for the Supercup teams and equipment, but also a potential replacement fixture for the series should they be unable to get to the circuit in time for the weekend ahead.
