A video that more or less sums up how WEC is shaping at the minute. Here we have yet another lead battle between Porsche and Audi, albeit in similar circumstances to Silverstone where the #17 Porsche had enough electrical energy in its 8MJ reserve to take the #8 Audi going down the Kemmel Straight at blistering pace.
Of course Audi went on to win the race in what was a brilliant strategy call to double stint the tyres with Treluyer, allowing them to gain the necessary track position whilst Marc Lieb had to deal with traffic in his Porsche at the end.
Nico Hulkenberg in the #19 Porsche made a great debut, however his chances of contesting for the race win were spoiled within the first fifteen minutes of the race when Nick Tandy made contact with the sister GTE-Pro Porsche team going through the Fagnes Chicane.
With Audi winning both opening rounds of this years World Endurance Championship, it bodes well for their chances heading into the next round of the series which we know all too well about. Le Mans.
